All of it is technically Israels because the Palestinians would not except the offer that was presented to them in 1948 of what would be their lands, and what would be Israel. They disputed Israel receiving any land. (Remember at this time it was in control of Britain). Here is a map that I believe is up to date:

Mecca is actually in Saudi Arabia. It is the church in Jerusalem that the Palestinians and Israelis both want control over. Jerusalem is basically split down the middle over the dispute. Here is a website of maps as well that might help:

what religious claim do the Palestinians have on jerusalem?
i truly have no idea

i understand the jewish history of the land, but i am totally blank on the Palestinian side.

i knew the british gave the land to the israelites after the holocaust, but i just assumed the Palestinians were given equal land.

Technically the Palestians were awarded 75% of the land which is now Jordan. They just wanted 100% of the British controlled land instead.

The Gaza Strip is part of it, but I am going all the way back to the 40s about this.

i knew the Palestinians were given some sort of land, i just couldnt remember which.

the gaza strip was given to the Palestinians in the last twenty years, right?

Israel took land that Palestinians/Muslim had lived there and settled on it. The strip though has like 99% muslim population, I can see why they'd want that.

Why they want it sure, but when you are given an opportunity to at least get something take it and build from there. Even worse, when other countries come to your defense and you and them get your tail kicked 1 day after a country is formed and you lose a lot more land via the war, you really don't have a leg to stand on.

You're right. Though Israel was majorly supplied by us with just about everything from us, still do and always will.

I was just going back to biggins comment, palestine/muslims do have some say there. Israel destroyed a lot of muslim villages and plopped right down on top of them, I'd be pretty ticked too.

Are you referring to present day/decade or in 1948 when the divide took place?
